About Volunteer Reception Centers
In partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health & the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency, the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island manages spontaneous volunteers through the opening of a VRC.

| A person who wants to help after a disaster or crisis. An individual who is not affiliated with a disaster relief agency or trained to respond to a disaster. A potentially skilled & valuable contributor to RI's recovery effort.

| - Are able to work in a crisis situation.
- Can work as part of a team
- may have a background in customer service, counseling or facilities management, etc.
- Serve in various roles such as greeters, runners, interviewers, phone bank operators, safety trainers, etc.
