"Driving" people to our website to help recruit volunteers for nonprofit organizations.
Nonprofit Services
Any nonprofit 501(c)(3), proprietary health care or governmental agency may use our online system for FREE to recruit volunteers.
You must register your agency on our website, before you are able to post your volunteer opportunities. In addition to recruiting volunteers through our website, VCRI promotes your volunteer opportunities in many other media outlets, such as: newspapers, radio shows, TV shows and news stories.
Helpful features of our online matching system include:
- Set up your own password, making it easier for you to remember.
- Manage emails you get from volunteers thru the VCRI website and log hours for these volunteers.
- Use the special Board recruitment section to interest new Board members in your agency.
- Automatic suggestions from the system as you are entering your volunteer opportunities to improve your chances of recruiting the RIGHT volunteers.
- Directions to your agency and a map are automatically connected to your Agency Profile and Volunteer Opportunities.
- Volunteers can add a Reflection to your agency about their experiences at your agency.
- Agencies have a statistical page that includes: # of Volunteers who have viewed your information on a month by month breakdown.
- When your listings were created and when they will expire if not updated.
- Volunteers who create Volunteer Profiles can sign up for automatic emails from our system that will notify them of your new opportunities at their request – weekly, monthly or quarterly.
Our workshops and annual conference in March are open to the whole community and especially targeted to our nonprofit agencies. Between 8-10 workshops are offered from September to June of each year, including several opportunities to attend our “Basic Volunteer Management Workshop.”
VCRI is here to support you in retaining your various volunteers. You will find several pages on “Best Practices” with specialized populations of volunteers, such as families, teens and seniors. You will find a lot of helpful information in the next section – Volunteering 101, such as benefits of volunteering, beneficial web links, current research into all areas related to volunteering, and useful “Frequently Asked Questions.”
We encourage agencies to recognize their volunteers with information on community-wide programs and offering our own recognition programs to our member agencies. By recognizing one or several volunteers at your agency, you raise awareness of your agency and your volunteer program, you encourage others to join you in your efforts with their financial and physical support and you offer a highly evolved volunteer program.
VCRI does have an “Agency Membership” program, which allows nonprofit 501(c)(3), proprietary health care or governmental agency to get special assistance and benefits by paying a yearly fee. A membership in VCRI is a very economical way to show support of your volunteers and to increase publicity of your agency’s volunteer program. Our membership program includes discounts to our workshops and conference, special recognition programs, discounts to items to support your volunteer program and many other benefits.
