Clair Healy of Warwick Honored
as a 2008 Outstanding Volunteer

The Volunteer Center of Rhode Island (VCRI) is pleased to announce that Claire Healy of Warwick will be honored for commendable service in her community through Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

The Outstanding Volunteer Award, sponsored this year by The Washington Trust Company, is presented annually to several individuals and groups who have made a visible impact in their communities through focused and selfless volunteer work. These awards serve to emphasize the important role volunteers play in Rhode Island and to recognize the time and talent invested by the honorees, such as Clair Healy in nonprofit organizations throughout the state.

Healy has volunteered with the hospitals for the past fourteen years with responsibilities ranging from being a patient information desk volunteer to a Rhode Island Hospital Guild member.

Healy has been praised for “greet[ing] patients, visitors and staff with a warm welcome and infectious smile” said Vickie Scott, of the Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.Scott also commends Healy as a “goodwill ambassador” for the hospital.

Healy served as President for the Rhode Island Hospital Guild for two years. She is currently serving as Secretary and is the Chairperson of the Nominating Committee. She has
enabled the Guild to fund special projects for the hospital on an ongoing basis through her commitment to fund-raising endeavors.

VCRI is proud to acknowledge Claire Healy for all of her achievements as an Outstanding Volunteer during the "VolunCheers 2008!" on Tuesday, April 29th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI.
