Our Programs & Initiatives

The Volunteer Center of Rhode Island provides a variety of programs that assist volunteers, volunteer program managers and the public at large. Here is a sample of what we have to offer you:

Volunteer Referral Service – Offering general volunteer referral to individuals interested in Rhode Island based placements.  We have something to fit every schedule, interest and ability!

Nonprofit Services - Volunteer management training, recruitment services, consulting services and professional support for nonprofit/governmental agency personnel.

Board Development - Board placement/referral services, consultation to improve board effectiveness and workshops on general board responsibilities.

Disaster Response & Preparedness - offering recruitment/referral, placement and training to individuals interested in disaster response and the organizations that need them.

Business Services & Employee Volunteering - Offering consultation in planning and implementing employee volunteer programs, as well as evaluation.

Family Volunteering - Offering placement/referral to families interested in volunteering together, as well as building the capacity of nonprofit organizations to better recruit and utilize family volunteers.

Teen & Youth Volunteering – Information and opportunities to educate engage and empower youth and teens through volunteering and civic involvement.

Volunteer Recognition - Offering a variety of recognition programs and opportunities for individual, group or business volunteers and the organizations where they serve.
