Business Services & Sponsorships

The Volunteer Center of Rhode Island (VCRI) offers a full range of services to develop and enhance community involvement programs for any size company, from small businesses to large corporations. We can tailor a program that matches the needs and goals of the business and its employees with those of non-profit service organizations.

Basic Consultation Services
Professional consulting to any size business to establish an employee volunteer program may include:

  • Strategic assistance to enlist the support of top management
  • A review of the structural models available for employee volunteer programs
  • Assistance in assessing employee interests and current volunteer involvement through use of surveys and interviews
  • Assistance in establishing systematic methods and procedures for the successful development of the employee volunteer program

As part of the basic consultation services, employee-based volunteer program implementation options include:

  • Compilation of a statewide nonprofit information center and volunteerism library to be housed at the corporation for employee use
  • Planning and facilitation of community service day projects for groups of employees
  • Presentations on volunteer rights and responsibilities or other topics of interest to help employees become more effective volunteers

Employee Volunteer Tracker and Web site
This product allows your employees to find volunteer opportunities supported by your company, utilizing a “plug & play” Web tool stored on your company intranet. In addition, the tool will enable your employees to easily post their volunteer hours, so that you have the information you need to report to your auditors and the public about the good works you are doing in our community. VCRI supplies the training and ongoing support of the product.
Base Cost: $2,500

Board Placement Services
VCRI will place your employees on local nonprofit boards of directors. If you choose this service, VCRI will:

  • Create a detailed interest profile that is used to place the employee
  • Set up interviews with organizations that fit that interest profile
  • Attend the interview with the employee
  • Train the employee in basic board management

These services continue until the actual placement has occurred. A follow-up survey will take place within six months to ensure satisfaction.
Cost: $750 per employee
